OUR HISTORY
1918
Our founder commenced business and W H Humphreys was formed, later to become W H Humphreys & Son Ltd, with core activities being specialist transport, international locations and warehouse development. The company was (and remains) wholly family owned with the family members directing every day business.
1940
The company relocated to new premises at Sydney Road, Watford, and with further acquisitions, this two acre freehold site has now become a secure purpose built document storage centre.
1980
Our clients relocating offices and moving their business operations needed a secure warehouse to store their archives and create more space. Our company fulfilled this initially then in…
1986
Humphreys Data Management was created, a separate company created to look after the archives, storage and retrieval of current documents and secure shredding of old documents of our clients. New separate warehouse units were constructed to meet the fire safety requirements and high security expected. A specialist team was then sourced. Our Secure Document Storage service was born.
1994
It was soon obvious that our clients needed much more than an archive repository and that a full electronic data management was also required. We approached the DTI and won a two year research and development grant to enable us to meet our clients' growing needs. Bar code tracking and data management software was developed in house.
2002
Humphreys registered the trade mark "Scan on Demand™" and our clients can now retrieve their paper documents instantly via the web.Strategic partnerships were formed with leading software houses, enabling our clients to take advantage of electronic data management processes where these would benefit them.
2006
The directors set up the Document Storage Programme to advise and assist clients with the optimisation of their document storage and data management processes, and to provide a comprehensive range of document storage and records management solutions.
